河南省（郑州）儿童医院始建于1960年，是河南省一所三级甲等儿童医院，拥有郑东院区（主院区）、东三街院区、南院区和西院区，“一院四区”各有重点、协同发展。开放床位2200张，现有职工3195人，其中博士39人、硕士666人、高级职称318人、硕士生导师36人、政府特殊津贴专家5人，省市学术技术带头人30人。2021年门急诊量207.09万人次，出院病人9.08万人次，手术量25217台次，120急重症年接诊2721人次。

医院是国家发改委、国家卫健委确定的首批国家区域医疗中心，被国家纳入建立健全现代医院管理制度试点医院。是河南省儿童医院、北京儿童医院郑州医院、郑州大学附属儿童医院、河南省儿童医学中心、河南省儿科医疗质控中心。

近五年，获批科研立项401项，省部级及以上科研立项82项，其中国家级16项；科研获奖61项，其中省部级5项。获批国家授权专利1440项，发表论文4889篇，在世界医学顶级期刊《JAMA》《BMJ》发表论文影响因子最高56.274分。
